Piston 3D model & 'rapid prototype'

| Use of 3D solid modelling to create 3D geometry and the
data required to make a prototype. This particular prototype was made using 'rapid prototyping' 3D printing technology. The CAD software outputs an *.stl (stereo lithography) file which is used by the 3D printer to create the rapid prototype (rp) model of the design. |
